Possible HIV Exposure? Act Now.

Call a healthcare provider immediately or seek urgent care.
If you are an ANHC patient, call or text “Text Me” to 907-743-7200.
For weekends or after hours (current ANHC patients): 907-330-3267.
You are not alone — help is available.
PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis)
Use PEP if you think you have been exposed to HIV.
When to Use PEP
PEP can help prevent HIV after situations such as:
Condomless sex or a condom breaking
A sexual partner with HIV or unknown HIV status
Sharing needles or drug-injection equipment
Sexual assault
Needle-stick injuries (healthcare workers)
PEP must be started within 72 hours (3 days) of exposure — the sooner, the more effective.

PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis)
Use PrEP to protect yourself before possible exposure to HIV.
What is PrEP?
PrEP is a medication that greatly reduces your risk of acquiring HIV. It is available as:
Oral medication
Long-acting injectable medication
Your provider can help you choose the best option.
Note: PrEP does not protect against other STIs. Continue regular testing and safe-sex practices.
Who Should Consider PrEP?
PrEP may be right for you if you:
Have a partner with HIV
Have multiple sexual partners
Have a partner who has other sexual partners
Have had an STI in the last 6 months
Use injection drugs
Want an added layer of protection against HIV
How to Get PREP
