Celebrating Excellence at ANHC: Honoring Our Award-Winning Staff

November 17, 2025

At Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center, our people are the heart of our mission. Every day, our staff bring skill, compassion, and dedication to the patients and communities we serve. This month, we are proud to celebrate two standout recognitions that reflect the exceptional work happening across our organization — from our clinical operations to our referral coordination team.

These awards are more than acknowledgments of individual and team achievements; they are a testament to the culture of excellence, collaboration, and service that defines ANHC.

Referral Team Honored with Anchorage Project Access Health Care Champion Award

We are thrilled to share that our Referral Team has received the Health Care Champion Award from Anchorage Project Access — a recognition reserved for those who consistently go above and beyond to ensure Alaskans have access to the care they need.

This extraordinary group works tirelessly behind the scenes to coordinate specialty referrals, connect patients to community resources, and break down barriers to care for our most vulnerable neighbors. Their work restores not only health, but hope and dignity.

The award recognizes the collective efforts of: Leilua Danielson, Angel Gould, Rosa Belli, Belle Eaton, Cheyanne Shincke, Allie Hernandez, and Director of Clinical Operations Jason Korlaske.

Every member of this team brings empathy, expertise, and a deep commitment to serving patients with respect and compassion. Their dedication ensures that no one is left navigating the healthcare system alone — and this honor could not be more well-deserved.

Director of Clinical Operations Jason Korlaske Wins APCA Sockeye Award

We are equally proud to celebrate Jason Korlaske, ANHC’s Director of Clinical Operations, who was selected for the Alaska Primary Care Association Sockeye Award — one of the most prestigious honors given to leaders who advance workforce development through mentorship, innovation, and exceptional leadership.

Jason has spent the past seven years strengthening ANHC’s clinical operations and nurturing the next generation of community health leaders. Building on 20 years of service in U.S. Army healthcare administration, Jason brought structure, consistency, and a relentless commitment to quality when he joined ANHC. He quickly became a cornerstone of operational stability and patient-centered excellence.

His contributions include:

  • Elevating clinical workflows to improve efficiency, reduce burnout, and enhance patient experience

  • Providing mentorship and leadership development for nurses, medical assistants, and operations staff

  • Creating advancement opportunities through a new management structure that includes managers and supervisors, supporting long-term retention and professional growth

  • Championing collaboration across multidisciplinary teams

Jason’s leadership — defined by precision, persistence, and deep compassion — has transformed how we work and how we care for our patients. His ability to guide teams through organizational change with clarity and empathy exemplifies the spirit of the Sockeye Award.

His impact will shape ANHC’s workforce for years to come.
