Registered Nurse
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under general supervision, plans, directs, and evaluates all nursing care and functions in accordance with acceptable standards of patient care. Accurately and promptly implements physician’s orders. Supports and enforces infection-control policies and procedures. Engages in population health management in the areas of HIV, behavioral health, substance use, social determinants of health, OB and chronic disease. Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality. Cooperates and maintains a good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, and other departments.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Two years of professional nursing experience.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Graduation from a school of nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing. Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska. Must have and maintain BLS / CPR certification.
ADDITIONAL SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE: Some positions may require specific experience in medical areas such as OB/GYN, HIV, behavioral health, substance use, social determinants of health, case management or internal medicine. Prior ambulatory care and family practice experience is preferred.
