I have COVID-19 symptoms. What should I do?


If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and you would like to meet with your medical provider, call us at (907) 743-7200 and we will help you make a plan. Do not visit ANHC without calling first. You can also use this Self-Checker tool from the CDC to help you make decisions and receive the right level of medical care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1. No matter what, protect yourself and others by following these guidelines:

  • Wear a face covering when around others.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • Avoid close contact with people outside of your household.




Does ANHC offer COVID-19 testing?


Yes, ANHC offers COVID-19 testing for established ANHC patients. If you are not already an ANHC patient (or have not been seen by an ANHC provider in the last 36 months), complete and submit the ANHC New Patient Packet. We will then call you to schedule an appointment.




I was in close contact with someone who has or had COVID-19. What should I do?


If you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, you should stay home for 14 days after your last contact with that person. Watch for COVID-19 symptoms like fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Stay away from others, especially those who have a higher risk of getting sick from COVID-19. Close contact means that:

  • You spent 15 minutes within 6 feet of someone with COVID-19.
  • You provided care to them at home.
  • You had direct physical contact.
  • You shared eating or drinking utensils.
  • They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you.

My COVID-19 test came back positive. What should I do?


If you have COVID-19:

  • Stay home except to get medical care. If you need medical care, call ahead before visiting your provider.
  • Separate yourself from other members of your household.
  • Do not share personal household items, like eating utensils, towels, and bedding.
  • Monitor your symptoms.
  • Wear a face covering when you are around others, even at home.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?


Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
Seek emergency medical attention for symptoms including the following*:
  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion
  • Inability to wake or stay awake
  • Bluish lips or face
*This list does not include all possible symptoms. Call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you. Call 9-1-1. Notify the operator that you are seeking care for someone who has or may have COVID-19.




How does COVID-19 spread?


COVID-19 spreads mainly from person to person. When a person with COVID-19 coughs or sneezes, they produce respiratory droplets that may land in the mouths and noses of people nearby. These respiratory droplets may also land on objects and surfaces. When another person touches the object or surface and then touches their mouth, nose, or eyes, they may be infected with the virus. How can I protect myself and others?


  • Wear a face covering when around others who are not members of your household.
  • Avoid close contact. Stay 6 feet away from members of your household who are sick or anyone who is not a member of your household.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  • Monitor your health every day. Be alert for symptoms like fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

Does ANHC offer telemedicine?


Yes. When you schedule an appointment at ANHC, you may be given the option to meet with your provider by phone or video, rather than in person. For more information about telemedicine at ANHC, please visit our telehealth page.




I have an in-person appointment at ANHC. What can I expect?


At ANHC, we are dedicated to protecting the health and safety of our patients and employees. Here’s what we are doing to keep our community health:

Masks: All patients and visitors must wear a face covering while in the ANHC building unless asked to remove it for examination or treatment. If you do not have a mask, you will be given one at the welcome desk when you enter the building. COVID-19 symptom screening: When you enter the ANHC building, you will be directed to stop at the welcome desk. You will be asked if you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 and your temperature will be taken. Limited building entry: Only ANHC patients with an in-person appointment are permitted to enter the building. Patients may be accompanied only by parents, guardians, and caregivers. If you are picking up a prescription, please park on the east side of the building (near C. St.) and call (907) 743-7203. Your prescription will be delivered to you.

No waiting rooms: If you have an in-person medical or dental appointment, call (907) 743-7200 (for medical) or (907) 743-7202 (for dental) after you arrive. An ANHC team member will let you know when to enter the building for your appointment. Hygiene practices: Exam rooms are cleaned and disinfected each evening and between each appointment. Payment: If you are paying your ANHC bill by credit or debit card, please pay online here. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we do our best to protect the health and safety of our patients and employees.
